A few weeks ago I mentioned on Facebook a DISASTER that occurred during our bathroom remodel. So, here's the story.
Remember when our bathtub looked like this in our last bathroom update?
Well, now it looks like this...AGAIN!
So what happened you ask? Well, as we were putting in all the bath/shower fixtures and getting ready to caulk, we went from one chip, to about five chips! Somehow even in yoga pants, bare feet, and being extra cautious, the bath just kept chipping. We decided that if it was going to chip that easily, then we don't even want it on our tub.
So what did we do? This...
"I'm melting, I'm melting!" said the tub. Yep, we stripped it right off. A standard paint stripper did the trick, no problem.
Do you know how sad it is to go...
It makes me want to cry.
Any who...in the time it has taken me to actually get to writing this post (seriously crazy busy couple of weeks here people) we have ordered the other brand of refinishing paint and have redone the tub. More on that to come!
UPDATE: See the new finish and what I thought about it.

BOO!!! I like the green color!! It's pretty!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM SAING ME A NIGHTMARE BY ASKING MY SPOUSE TO PICK UP A CAN OF RUSTOLEUM BATH AND TILE. SHE CAME HOME WITH A KIT OF HOMEX. SOMETHING IS HEAVY IN THE BOX, COUD IT BE THE SANDER OR DOES THE EXPOXY/BASE WAY THAT MUCH FEELS LIKE 5 LBS. UPI SAVED BU AN HOUR OF USING HOMEX. I NOTICED JUST NOW THAT IT'S ON CLEARANCE AT MANY STORES, I WONDER WHY. THEY WERE THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN. 10 YEARS AGO i HAD A PRO DO IT, TURNED OUT STUNNING. 3 YEARS LATER i CAME TO SEE HOW IT WAS DOING. RIGHT WHERE i HAD PAINTED ON MIN WAX TO TRY TO MAKE IT SHINY, MY PINK TUB WAS BACK IN 2' X 3' FOOT CENTER SPOT. EVERYTHING ELSE IS PERFECT. i'M GOING TO USE ELECTRIC SANDER IN THAT SPOT. IT FELT LIKE SAND GRITS FROM THE BEACH AFTER THE DRYING DEADLINE PASSED, NOT COMFY FOR KIDS BATH. THE GRITS ARE GONE, THAT'S A GOOD SIGN WHY DOES THIS PROCESS MAKE ME SO NERVOUS. I DON'T THINK THE PRO SANDED AS IT WAS CLEAN AND SMOOTH AND HE COULDN'T HEAR HE ME WITH HIS GAS MASK ON TRYING TO TELL HIM I PAINTED WAX ON A SPOT. IT LOOKED SO GOOD WHEN FINISHED I DIDIN'T MENTION THE WAX PAID HIM $750. HE HAD HOSE COMEING FROM BATH HANGING OUT THE NEAREST WINDOW AND THE ODOR WAS MINIMAL FOR A DAY OR TWO. XO
I think the green looks great! Keep it. It's different and gives the bathroom character!
